Reality Stuns 'Human Shields': 'Saddam Was a Monster'

Some of the appeasement activists who went to Iraq as "human shields" got shocked into common sense when reality dashed their passivist fantasies.

Arnaud de Borchgrave, UPI's Editor at Large and a member of NewsMax's board of directors, wrote Friday from Jordan:

A group of American anti-war demonstrators who came to Iraq with Japanese human shield volunteers made it across the border today with 14 hours of uncensored video, all shot without Iraqi government minders present.

Kenneth Joseph, a young American pastor with the Assyrian Church of the East, told UPI the trip "had shocked me back to reality."

Some of the Iraqis he interviewed on camera "told me they would commit suicide if American bombing didn't start. They were willing to see their homes demolished to gain their freedom from Saddam's bloody tyranny. They convinced me that Saddam was a monster the likes of which the world had not seen since Stalin and Hitler. He and his sons are sick sadists.

"Their tales of slow torture and killing made me ill, such as people put in a huge shredder for plastic products, feet first so they could hear their screams as bodies got chewed up from foot to head."

Well, well, well. Even these appeasers see the light. Thanks Jazz.

If you don't straighten out you may end up in the giant plastic people shredder, feet first, just so your welfare loving leftist sreams of agony can be heard in the East Village. Maybe that is what happened to Osama Bin Laden. I see the DOW is taking as nice dip, nervous investors, Dubya may not win this thing in less than a week. If he does'nt hurry up gas will be $2.00 a gallon. Nothing ever goes just right does it?

Wil: After an uptick in the Dow over 1,000 points, selling is inevitable. I have no idea if most people thought it would go 'just right', but I didn't and don't. But at the end of it, we will have done the job - I couldn't care less what the financial markets do in response, they operate on 2 main mass emotions - fear and greed.

Funny how the media is trying to portray this as something of a close war. If it was a football game the score would be 35-3 at the 1/2. Big deal they may kick 2 field goals. It's still a blowout. They killed some marines with a fake surrender, which is BULLSHIT, we should stop being nice guys. And they had a group of mechanics fall into their laps. That's hardly set backs in the big picture.

Sorry, but the DOW dipped because of word that the war might drag on. The adjustment theory does'nt wash today pal.

Wil: I don't know about anyone else, but statements like 'tell that to the families of the KIA' actually make me laugh.

Why?

Because captured, wounded and dead soldiers (and regrettably civilians) are part of war. I'm laughing because these men died in the line of duty and their families know it, and know they sacrificed for something they believed in - and here you are doling out a ladle of emotional reaction as if I, or anyone else in support of this war, are too stupid to have known for ourselves the pain families and loved ones inevitably go through - I'm laughing therefore at this concept that we really don't understand.

But I do understand - and yet, I still support the war. And if one of my own died, I'd grieve, but that's the cost. I honor that cost, I do not use it as a reason against the war. I hope it's minimized, of course, but it's a cost that has to be paid.

Yeah its laughable, but not quite as hilarious as comparing the way a war is going to a football game. I think you missed my point.

No, I did see your point, I guess I probably overreacted to the stream of knee-jerk emotional comments I've seen posted by people who are against the war as if war is supposed to be some sanitized version of a video game where only the bad guys are killed.

hey up and out. wasn't that the halftime score of navy and airforce football game earlier this year. iraqi's are desparate. they can fight better than us . there life depends on it. thank god they dont have the technoligy we have or we would be dead

"dont take life so serious, you wont be getting out of here alive"

Marines going into combat are aware of the dangers. I'm deeply sadden by their deaths, however, I don't believe one marine is ready to retreat. I believe the US is well on track and I'm sick of the media trying to exploit their deaths and them being captured, it's total BULLSHIT. It's all in an effort to somehow make people believe the Iraqi's are in this. I wish no US soldiers had to die. Remember the casualities are still very light, we have 200K troops on the ground. We have flown over 10,000 sorties with very few problems. When it's over it will be a blow out.
